Commission on the Quality of Higher Education
The Commission on Academic Quality is composed of representatives from the academic committees and the Student Parliament (StuPa). This allows 6 students and 5 professors/staff members to manage funds aimed at improving the overall quality of education through personnel and equipment.
Tuition fees have long since been abolished in Lower Saxony. To ensure that universities do not suffer a loss of revenue, the state compensates them for 100% of these funds.
The distribution of these funds is discussed and voted on in a Study Quality Funding Commission. In the commission responsible for central funding, students even hold the majority.
