Bookbinding
You can have your seminar paper or thesis bound here. Either you’ve already printed your copies beforehand—in which case the binding process will be a bit faster—or you can print the document for a fee next door in the PC Pool using your print credit (black-and-white: €0.04, color: €0.12).
Here you’ll find not only the different types of binding we offer, but also the binding form. This is just for an overview of the prices and will be filled out by you on-site; you don’t need to bring it with you.
Hardcover Bindings
Hardcover bindings have a metal strip along the spine that is compressed to hold the book together. For hardcovers, you can choose between linen-look and leather-look materials.
You can see the colors below. The available text colors are shown on the right. For spine embossing (side embossing), the book must be at least 10 mm thick.
The TU Clausthal logo, which is always embossed in the upper-left corner, may only be embossed in black or without color due to TU Clausthal’s corporate design guidelines.
You can view the available colors—whether linen or leather—here.
Paperback binding
Softcover bindings typically consist of leather-textured paper on the front and back; clear film covers are also available.
The paper can be printed in black and white according to your preferences.
Softcover bindings are glued and require 10 minutes to dry after the gluing process. Typically, 2 mm is trimmed from each edge on every page to give the book a polished finish.
